Brake Noise and Dealer Frustration
Hi all. I was wondering if someone could give me some advise on the best way to deal with a dealer. I have an `08 Bullitt and bought it new, and ever since I have had the car since around 500 (almost 16k now) miles I have had intermittant brake noise. I have had it back at the dealer about 5 times now and they cant seem to find the cause. What I get is intermittant high pitched squeeking (similar to what you get on older models if you dont use anti sease). This seems to happen most under light braking at lower speeds. I found there was a TSB on the `05 for an issue with the brake lining that caused exactly like I am experiencing. However, that said it only effected the 05 model year before a certain build date. Its really embarrising to have a nice car and when you go to stop it, it sounds like a 75 pinto with bad brakes. The dealer told me that since the newer models use clips and springs to hold the pads in that there is no need for anti sease. Now I have watched them work on my car several times and its usually the same baby huey looking mechanic who puts the car up in the air. Takes the rear tire off drops it on the ground (hey its not his) then stares at the pads and callipers for 10 minutes slack jawed likes its something new to him. Then I am told by the service manager that the pads look good and sent on my way. I would take it to another dealer but I have a service agreement with this one, but the service I get is rather lackluster to say the least. How do I get these morons at the dealer to address my brake issue?
