2003 Mercury Mountaineer.. Airbag code. HELP PLEASE!

Hey guys, my '03 Mountaineer is throwing an airbag code and I can't seem to figure out what the heck is going on.. I've unplugged both of the yellow plugs under both front seats and cleaned them both out, then plugged them in firmly.

Tested the battery and it is still @ 12.9v with 519 CCA, I can't imagine that this would be a problem, but let me know if I'm wrong.

I have counted the blinks and it is code "34." It's not throwing the CEL, but it's showing P1000 when I run the DTC's with my X-Cal.

Anyone have any ideas??

an OBD code P1000 is "OBDII Monitor Testing Not Complete" and extremely common and also meaningless on Ford vehicles. Seems to pertain to emissions drive cycle issues from a 2002 mountaineer manual I found online. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/fo..._154226_A1.pdf

Is the airbag light on?

The 34 blinks should be a code for "driver airbag circuit resistance low"

TSB about it...

The p1000 Code is probably because I unplugged the battery trying to reset the truck and get rid of the Airbag light. Probably just hadn't finished the appropriate drive cycle because there is no CEL on.

Thanks for the info on the pre-tensioner. I'm going to give my buddy @ the local Ford stealership a call today to see if he's heard of this crap and how common it is...
