Slow rear end ticking noise?
 

Alright guys, this is weird...

I noticed yesterday when my daughter and I were driving that when I start to slow down to a stop or slow in town traffic I start to hear a slow ticking type sound ( kinda remind ya of a card in a bicycle wheel as a kid ) but when you are going about 40+mphr I dont seem to hear it. I dont know if its cause of the exhaust note or the engine hides it more?

But it sounds like its coming more from the rear drivers side wheel well? I looked around the wheel wells and didnt see anything hanging down or anything that would be rubbing at all? And the car drives straight...


Any ideas would be great, because I drive the car daily about 100mi round trip

I added some air into the back tires last night to see if that had anything to do with it, no change. It almost sounds like if the back agle is totally straight and bent or something?

how long have you had the car? Was it wrecked by any past owners? It could have a bent axle that you are just now noticeing.

I have had it for about 2yrs now, nothing that I am aware.

The only thing I have done to it recently was install new brakes all the way around front and back about 1 month ago, so kinda confused. Almost like the rear drivers side is rubbing against something?

I am looking at replacing the rear tires, since they need it badly anyways ( look almost like DR's ) and maybe a full alignment.

Does the speed of the ticking drop with the speed?

if I am around 40mphr I hear it the most, but as I speed up its not as noticable and that again might be from the noise of the exhaust, engine...

But a relative looked at it last night, and said it could very well be being that the tires are needing replaced or could be alignment issue... so guess will replace tires since they are needing it anyways, and see if it continues?

Just to let anyone know, this actually ended up being coming from the front end and not the back, and I had to replace 2 front inner tierods and that corrected the noise popping altogethor and also replaced the back 2 tires as well.
