CAI Installation--Trouble Code HELP!

I have a 2008 GT automatic, and just installed a BBK CAI. After a day of driving, I got a check engine light. I bought a tuner, and used the 87 octane tune. Another day went by, and it came back on. Two codes came up: P0174 and P1000.

One's a lean fuel trouble code, and I'm not sure what the other one means.

What should I do to stop these from repeatedly coming back?

check for air leaks. go back over your installation and make sure everything it tight and on good.

did you have to take off any vacuum lines to get the old intake off? (im not sure how the 3v compares to 2 v and pushrod 5.0s) if u did take off vacuum lines make sure u put em back on correctly, this could be on reason for the code....
also did u hook up your MAF correctly? faulty airflow sensors usually set off these kind of codes....

The P1000 is not actually a trouble code. It just means that the Readiness code has not been set yet or in other words, the engine computer hasn't completed testing certain emission control components. If there is no other problems with the car emission system, the code P1000 will disappear after driving for some time (the drive cycle must include idling, stop and go traffic, acceleration and steady cruising).

wat are you running for a mid pipe? if it is an offroad pipe, do you have MIL eliminators?

Check all your connections for leaks, check to make sure nothing is leaking from the throttle body to the CAI. If thats fine it could just be the tune. I did the same thing last week and I ended up contacting the person that did my tune and they sent another one and my check engine light hasn't come on again since. I had codes P0171 and P0174.

Did you use a tune that was built for having a CAI, or did you put a canned tune in it?

I went over the hose clamps, and one was a little loose. I tightened it just now. All the lines are connected just as they were, and the MAF is installed right and is clean. All of my exhaust is just plain old stock. The 87 octane engine tune was a canned one from a Diablo Sport Predator.

Would using a higher octane eliminate the lean fuel trouble code?

Thanks all for your help!

You should've bought the SCT. The Diablo has had these problems before as I recall from my buddies car. When you put in the tune does it ask you anywhere in there what CAI you have installed if one at all? Because if not, then you need to get a tune for that CAI in order to fix the lean problem.

Basically what is happening is that your ECU still thinks that the stock restrictive air snorkel box is installed, but you're actually getting more air in there with the CAI. So it's not adding enough fuel into the air/fuel mixture and is therefore running lean (which is not good at all).

Yeah it's what he said ^^ I get the same code with mine.
