Spark plug time
ive just hit 50,000 miles on my 01 gt and feel like it is probably about time to change out the spark plugs still has the stock oem plugs, i was planning to order off american muscle but didnt know if i should go with the same oem ford plugs or are those NKG plugs any better? i noticed they have 3 different levels of NGK plugs ranging in price is there any significance getting those???

no man i would just go with oem Plugs or something in that same heat reange i just did my plugs at about 45,000 and mine were bad!
My car runs better now. unless u have nitrous or forced induction, stick with stocks. but i m not a pro. |
I've heard the NGK TR55's are very good and they are the stock heat range. A lot of other companies DO make plugs that is our stock heat range you know...
|
oh yea i know, it was just easier for me to find OEM plugs reather than the NGK's
Im not bashing on other pulgs at all. I just used OEM's and they worked well for me. |
Absolutely. I'm going to change my plugs in the spring and I'm either going to go with OEM or NGK TR55's. Probably the latter. Can't go wrong with either!
|
Go to the parts store and just pickup NGK TR55's and you will be good to go.
|
Get whatever is cheapest for you. For me that was Champion plugs. Just stick w/ the stock heat range (or if you beat on the car, 1 step colder).

Alright thanks for the input guys i will be getting them very soon, also where is a good website where i can get new plug wires like red or blue just kind of wanting to dress up the engine bay a little bit and im sure that would help deliver better spark as well but i see american muscle does not carry any for the v8
