FML

my mustang's transmission is going out. first it was second, now it's third. i only have first, 2nd, and 5th, to go to work and then go to the national guard meeting. i have no money now to fix either my mazda or my mustang, and i really don't have anybody with a car to borrow.

how much does it usually take to rebuild a T-45? give or take?

sorry to hear about your trouble, man.
you might try hitting up craigslist or the pick-n-pull for another tranny and popping that in. I've seen t-45's going for $100-$500
you may be lucky, could be just the synchro's went. tranny shop will probably diagnose for $50 or less.

for Third, i can move it in and out of the gate while the engine is running and without me hitting the clutch.

Have you tried double-clutching it? If that works, at least you know it's the synchros.

Sounds to me like its time to start looking for a used tranny online.

yes i have reverse. and no i have not tried double-clutching. never had to, so i never got good at it. and yes, i need to solve my money problems right now, my bank took my entire paycheck and i still am overdrafted... (they don't stop charging overdraft fees at all, so it can rack up 300 bucks in 3 days.) i'm really screwed on the money department until i can figure something out. my spare car is also broken, which needs a transmission.

FML.

Man you're in bad shape! Might be time to start giving blood or whackin' off in a cup :D

spike_africa 10-31-2009 10:13 AM

Call them and bitch. I always get any over draft fees taken off. Just call and complain to them. Tell them you have been a customer for a long time, yada, yada, yada and how you need to be able to feed yourself etc... just bullshit them and you will get them taken off.
