Warped axle,, or halfshaft..

as i was changing my brakes i found out my pass side axle/halfshaft is warped. I dont know where to find one of these for a 7.5. Dont know what spline or anything. This will solve my cars long held vibration no matter what wheels i have on. Im urgent to know.

Cheap solution: find a replacement in a junkyard.
Expensive solution: buy a new one, whether it be Ford or aftermarket. I think stock 7.5" axles are 28 spline.

Your axle is bent? How did you do that?

It was wrecked previously, so maybe it had been ran into a ditch hard. i had the whole brake assembly off the right side and was spinning and i could see it making an oval shape. i probably could heat it up and hit it with a hammer but i may mess it up worse.

If i go junkyard route,, i think 94-98 axles are shorter so i dont think i can get them. and if i do get one im scared it may be already warped itself. BUT ill check before removal.

Expensive route,, how much am i looking at?

get a 99-04 its the correct length for you. Just spin them and look them over to see if its straight. Should not cost much from a junkyard for a single axle. Problem is many of the places around here are dicks and would rather sell the whole rear end then just let you get what you want and make money.

+1 That's how they're down here, but way worse. They wouldn't even let me take off a side skirt arm.

How did you drive it for so long without knowing? When I wrecked my car and got it back they didn't know the axle was bent, and I noticed it that day I was driving it...clicking noise and just didn't drive right...Sure enough the axle was bent. How long have you been driving the car like that? That can't be good for the car hahhhh

been driving it like that for 2 years now... its a very slight warp,, so much that u can barely notice it,, its smoooth until you make a turn say on the highway. if u start to go right or left you can notice it.. i always thought i had bad wheels,, but these new saleens prooved that out.
