How can I fix m dented hood scoop?

I bought a Xenon hood scoop recently, checked it over, everything looked great. I got it painted. When it was returned to me, there was a big circular dent, like a crater, in one of the corners. It's made of polyurethane. Does anyone know how i can fix it? I heard putting a hairdryer underneath it works and the dent will rise back up into place...but I figured I might as well ask here, like usual.

whose at fault, the shop who painted it?

Well, I got some guy my Uncle knows to paint it. I can't remember if it was warped before I gave it to him or not. If he did it, he isn't admitting to it. Either way, I need to get it fixed, or I'm out $160.

Ask around at some "paintless dent removal" places. If your area gets hail often there will be a lot of these places around

if it's poly-urethane then yeah... a hair dryer will work nicely. You may have to give it a little shove. Don't rush it and the paint won't even flake off.

can you place something under it like a paint can.....and let the weight of the hood slowly apply pressure to the underside of the dent...a couple of days and it should be pushed out.

The hairdryer was working decently, but it couldnt get hot enough. I ended up blowing it up....but my dad has a heat gun at work hes going to use on it for me. I really hope i can fix this thing, because it's going to look sick if it gets put on my car.

New question, can I use this heat gun to heat the painted part? I'm afraid it will melt the paint off or something.
