Name this part! NMR.
So i have a rattle from the front passenger side wheel.
It only rattles when turning, and only when applying the gas. This is a front wheel drive 1984 civic. And the pic is of where the axle meets the wheel. Ive found driveshafts for around 200 bucks. not sure i feel like blowing $200 on this. may be easier to go buy a used exploder or something. The seal is open, i have not had more than a few minutes to examine this, do you think this is the cause of the rattle? and if so, how dangerous is it to drive like this? http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._6521334_n.jpg http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._3197499_n.jpg |
CV joint. Many places rebuild them and charge about $150 with exchange to replace one. You want to replace boots before they fail to avoid replacing the whole cv joint.

At first I was like :dunno:
And then I was like ::p Forgot you were FWD. |
yup, it is a cv joint. theyre a pain in the ass when it comes to rebuilding them...or at least they are when rebuilding a polaris cv joint......
