What is this.. Is it important?

Okay, I've gone through all the diagrams detailing each part of the under-the-hood components and I can't figure out what this one thing is and it looks like it might be leaking/sprayed out the top.

on the '09 6'ers, when looking under the hood, back right corner(driver side) behind the suspension next to the brake fluid tank. Has two tubes that run out the top of it. My tubes have a liquid substance(not water, I think) near where they connect to this cylindrical device and nowhere else.

Should I have Ford look it over when I get my next oil change?

Does it actually connect to the master cylinder?

I don't know what that is -_-

only noticed it when I was inspecting my stock intake/throttle body to figure out what tools I'll need when I replace them

post a pic if you can, and def. take it back to the dealership. Your car should still be under warranty right?

if you don't know what a master cylinder is maybe you shouldn't be fooling around under the hood. lol, seriously pics make it alot easier.

K, did some more research, it's not the master cylinder..

With those clamps, those lines look like either fuel lines or A/C Lines.

that looks like the expansion valve for your air conditioning.

hotshot13422 06-08-2009 01:26 PM

Part of your A/C system

sand1303 06-08-2009 08:13 PM

that's what it looks like to me too

garrett01001 06-09-2009 10:47 AM

Okay, if that's all it is I'm not worried about it. Just gonna wipe down the hoses and see if any more liquids appear near where the lines connect
