squeaking, and squealing in the front end 99-04.
Dunno what it is, it started a year ago,, and my friend said his made that sound before his balljoint fell out.. then i took it to get looked at, and when they lifted it and set it back down, it stopped with the noise. Well its coming back and its even worse than ever,, kinda loud. It squeals in both directions, sounds like high tension rubber touching. hard to explain, i dont know really, thats why im asking what could do it!
Hmm, best way to find out, is to open your hood start it up and listen to what general direction the sound is comin from. So then youve atleast narrowed it down somewhat.
no no its somewhere along suspension lines.
Sounds alot like your bushings need to be replaced.
Does this happen only when you are turning (and at a stop while you turn the wheel)? Does it sound like insane belt squeal? If that's the case, your PS pump is done. If your ball joints are shot, you should be able to wobble your wheel when you jack up the car.
its more common when im at a stop,, its the slightest little squeal ever, and say if i go over a hump in the road it makes a noise as well.
control arm bushings, strut bushing, sway bar end links?
If it's just when the suspension cycles, than the bushings are done for. The rubber stuff doesn't last very long. The sway bar bushing (the end-links are poly from the factory and should be fine), control arm bushings, and strut bushings are the places to check. Make sure all are still soft, pliable, and not dry/cracked.
Still check the swaybar endlinks for possible breakage. Unlikely but I've seen it happen

the car has 90k miles.. and has been wrecked twice.. one was a head on, the other one basically caught the front bumper behind the cover and destroyed the radiator support. ill have it on the lift soon as i change tires, ill take a look and see.

sounds like your ball joints are dry.
