centerforce clutches

i was wondering if anyone here had any experience with centerforce clutches? i would be able to get one from a friend, never used, for a good price. however my concern is that it might be too much for my application.

i've got a 2002 bolt on GT with a racing springs/suspension. my clutch does need to be replaced soon, but i don't know if this one is going to be too hard and too rough for a car that drives new york city streets 99% of the time. it is a daily driver, and i hear the centerforce grabs quick and does not slip much.

any input is appreciated.

centerforce dfx is what I will be getting in the near future, no personall experience but heard good reviews, has little peddle effort as well

Depends on what clutch it is. They make some nice units and some hardcore stuff that would suck on a daily driver. Nothing is worse then an over clutched car that sucks to drive. Case in point friend has Spec Stage 3 in a bolt on Ls1 and its way to much clutch and sucks to daily drive for him.

I had a centerforce on my bolt on GT. I do not recomend for daily driving, but for track use, it basically just was fully in or fully out.... damn that bitch would shift nice.

I think my Centerforce Dual Friction is great.

I have a stage 2 in my gt and I love it. I would not get a stage 1 I think the stage 2 will hold up longer and if you want to do a power adder later you have that option without replaceing the clutch again.

yeah, going with the spec 2 clutch because it's good for a power adder later. hopefully going to go with a kenne bell in a year or two

I heard great stuff about that clutch and I almost got it over my Spec 2.

yeah go with the centerforce dual friction. They are on 600hp cobras and holding up just fine. The pedal isnt a beast either. I'm going with the dual friction on my cobra.
