ok, i was looking at a website earlier for some ceramic brake pads to keep the brake dust down and it said this

"NOTE: Ceramic pad material is recommended by the vehicle manufacturer and may have been supplied as Original Equipment. Replacing ceramic brake pads with pads of any other material may result in more brake dust or increased brake-related noise than originally installed pads."

do our cars come with ceramic brakes from the factory? if so what kind of pad should i look for to reduce brake dust because i get a lot of it on my rims. and if they dont come with ceramic brakes oe, would you guys recommend them? i had them on a couple previous cars and had no brake dust. now im just concerned with the performance of them.

I have semi-metalic and they make less brake dust than the motorcraft pads that came with our cars stock. But thats my opinion if your looking for no brake dust get The Green Stuff brake pads I think EBC or even the yellow stuff if you want more performance. I personally use bendix titanium-semi metallics it's cheap, low brake dust and stops without noise real well.

Ceramic brake pads incorporate a formula that includes ceramic materials and utilizes less metal (approximately 15% metal content by weight). Ceramic brake pads combine exceptional braking power with very quiet and low-dust braking.

Semi-Metallic brake pads incorporate a formula that utilizes approximately 40% or more metal content by weight. Semi-Met brake pads offer premium braking power but slightly more dust

yeah i know how they work, i just wasnt sure if our cars came with them OE, and how they would perform. do you know if the "green stuff" brake pads are ceramic? and thanks for the help

Oh my bad, yeah if i'm correct OE they came with ceramic pads but I didnt get my car with the stock pads I had mine used but came with the "green stuff" in my opinion they worked really well i'm not quite sure if they are ceramic i'm pretty sure they are not but check out the EBC site and they will give you a better description on the formula used. Even if they arent ceramic they are very reputable.
