x pipe or H pipe?
I have a 00 mustang gt with pretty much all bolt ons. I have a bassani x pipe installed in it and I wanted to changed it over to an H pipe to get a deeper sound. Is there a difference in performance? I have someone trading me a BBK h pipe off road for my bassani off road x pipe does this sound like a good deal? Thanks
|
u wont notice the difference in power, just the amazing sound.. i got a BBK OR H and i love it.
|
Does the deal I am being offered sound good or should he add some money to this deal?
|
both arent were much i paid 90 for mine but its was hardly ever used

No a straight trade like your doing is good. Also the difference between the two is gonna be mostly sound.

lol sorry dustin your work is still appreciated. |
So wouldn't an x pipe make for a better sound? does an x-pipe actually send the exhaust note from your left cylinder all the out from the left pipe and the right cylinder out the right side. And an H-pipe just blends both together out of both pipes? Seems to me an x-pipe would actually sound more like true dual exhaust. The way old muscle cars would sound before cats were involved..

you probably couldnt be more wrong.. the X blends more than an H... |
H-pipes make the deep muscle car sounds, and X-pipes make a high pitched some call raspy sound like euro v8 cars. Me I'm an H-pipe guy only. Both help equalize the exhaust pulses on each banks firing order to help with flow.

I looked up the prices on both the pipes mines new would go for about 339 and his is only like 170... I don't really think its an even trade anymore what do you guys think? Thats if they were new but they're not I know lol but mine still sounds like its a pricier product than his...

Trade and some cash sounds about right.

For a v8 or any other motor that has a un even firing order then its a good idea. For something like the v10 vipers or many v6 motors that are even firing there is little point to having it.
As for the original poster, does your x-pipe have cats? You never said anything about cats on the car. So if you do have cats then yes that mid pipe would be worth more. |
No i my x pipe is off road with no cats as mentioned earlier... but I guess since its bassani it makes it worth more than a BBK O/R h pipe bcuz mine was going for 339 his only 170 thats IF they were new but they're not.

my mac or h pipe makes it sound amazing idle and all. lets the inner beastly sound out. i agree with above statement, x pipes give too much backfire. almost as much as an srt-4:beatup:
|
Backfire? can you explain kinda new at this
