i really have no reason to know this except to add onto my knowlege lol, but just curious... the 5.0 motor was a pushrod motor correct, and the 4.6 is a modular correct?? well what exactly does that mean? thanks

pushrod engine.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pushrod

modular engine.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Modular_engine

:google: is your friend.

Pushrod engines have the cams in the blocks and to actuate the valves, lifters ride on the cam, pushing on the pushrods which then push on the rockers to push the valves down. Modular engines have OHC heads, so instead of using pushrods, the cams directly actuates the rockers and the lifters are used as lash adjusters instead. However, I'm not 100% sure why the Modular family is called so when all engine families are modular by nature. However, I'm sure wiki will say why.

Wow a lot of that wiki is wrong. Gotta love people who are clueless but post items any way. The 97-99 4.6 F150 has non PI heads and does not make the power listed. same goes for the 00-04 2v 4.6 motor. Same goes for the non PI headed 5.4 2v trucks.

That's why it states power ratings are for 2007 for the 4.6 but the 5.4 is suppose to be 00. However, that's why you can change it.

I have never messed with wiki, but I am gonna now.

I had to do it for the Mustang article because it was saying that the Mach 1 used 5.4 cams and some other little tidbits that made absolutely no sense.
