theft light blinking

i am getting conflicting information on this 99 GT Conv should the theft light blink when the car is turned off and the key removed trying to solve problem with the car not starting after sitting a few days sounds like a power drain issue but this light came up as a possibility.

thanks

Try disconnecting the battery for a few, and see if it still comes on. Or stop steeling cars man!!:D

I'm pretty sure that light is suppose to be on but I wouldn't worry about that draining the battery since that bulb draws so little current.

It is supposed to blink, and it will never drain the battery.

thanks all that was what i thought my next guess is the amps in the trunk seems how someone cut the wires and rigged it in there they proba bly r staying hot all the time
last options is to drive the car everyday so it does not have time t drain the battery :)

disconnect the Amps from those wires. if it still happens, alternator. or bad battery.

This may sound stupid, but make sure you close your doors all of the way too. It's something very few people do, but I've seen it happen enough times that it's worth mentioning. Check what Leonide said first, but then if there is still a problem check the sensor in the door that says if it's closed or not. I'd take the alternator over to autozone and see if it's still charging or if the magnet went out or whatever...

But yeah, that red blinking light is supposed to be blinking, so don't worry about it.
