Are hydraulic clutches normally powered by the same master cylinder as the braking system?

ok... a buddy of mine drives a 97 honda qualude and he is having issues shifting, i guess they have a hyrdraulic clutch. from the sound of it it seems like it is not engaging the clutch because he has a lot of diccuculty getting in any of the gears.
he might need a refill of the fluid. |
Most hyd. clutch systems use a slave cyl. and a seprate reservoir, some are even self contained.
