5.0 were last put in Stangs in 1995 215-225hp(major dogs)
SOHC-------------------------------------
4.6 went in in 1996 rated at 215 in 96/97
98 was rated at 225hp
99-04 rated at 260hp
DOHC---------------------------------------
96/97/98 Cobra 4.6DOHC rated at 305hp
99 rated at 320 (had some problems getting that though)
01 rated at 320
03/04 rated at 390hp

Cobra motors are far superior whether it be for 4valves per cylinder, aluminum block/forged internals or forged crank. That just about covers it. :)

I smile more and more thinking about how fast my Cobra is going to be going...

Too bad I cant get it til Thursday...stupid assholes on the street making me swerve to get out of their way and hitting a curb that just HAPPENED to be made out of a big piece of stone and puncturing the SIDEWALL of my GODDAMN tire!!

ok im done...im also out $120 for a new Bridgestone Turanza LS-V...dammit.

Anywho...

On the 96-98 GT you could swap out the heads and the intake manifold on those things and achieve an extra 45-50HP (PI Head Swap)
