Uneven Brake pad wear.

Hey folks.

So i swapped out the brakes on my Honda and the brakes on my wifes saturn the other day, i was suprised i needed to do hers again and they were already squeaking and i just replaced them 11 months ago.

anyways, i pulled off her brake pads, the outer drivers side was pretty worn, maybe 1/16th untill the pin would be hitting, the inside driver side pad was only about 2/3 worn, when i replaced the passenger side brakes neither pad was more than 1/2 worn.

After i swapped out her pads i had to pump the brake about 10-15 times then start driving and pumping it to get the front brakes to start kicking in worth a damn.

any ides what would cause such uneven wear on brake pads?

Check the slides, they should move very freely, take them out wipe off the old grease and put some new grease on there. Also how hard was the piston to push back? If it was very hard you may have a bad caliper.

piston was not overly hard to push in, it couldnt exactly be pushed in with a thumb but it was easy to do with a screwdriver and a little leverage. lol

the calipers both slid pretty well, honestly i was not really paying attention to it.
