Clutch

How long, time and\or milage wise, shoud a stock clutch last? I realize that the clutch has several pieces involved, so to say it as one piece, is just to simplify the question.

I have a stock clutch that has never been serviced\repaired\looked at etc, on my 05 GT, with just over 38K miles on it.

when it goes it goes. My stock one was fine with 45 or 47k on it when i took it out. It just started to slip a bit in 4th on the bottle at the track so i swapped it out. I know alot of people who have lots of miles on stock setups.

Cool. Thanks spike. It was one of those things that just popped into my head out of no where, that "Hey, you know what, I've never had it looked at, and I don't know what the "protocol" is for wear and tear, so I better check into it."

Thanks again spike.

Considering my dad's old 99 F-150 had 200k on the original clutch, it really depends on how you drive it. It could last that long or may take a dump in the coming days. The bottom line is you'll start to notice when a new one is needed.
