Next mod in line: Fuel Cell.
Considering something like this:
http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29393-...m=350020695015 32 gallons. 120 bucks to fill up but it'll take me over 600 miles on the freeway. Imagine driving from SF to Vegas on a single tank. That's an 8 hour drive on the best of days. It'll end up sitting as low as the stock tank with the diffuser attached to the bottom but I'll have to also cut the trunk build it up into there a bit. Why? Well the car drinks gas when I'm gettin' on it and I'm fixin to take it on a 90 mile race, so, I'd like to not run out of gas. Besides, for the higher speed classes it's required that you have a SFI approved cell. The upshot is I'll be able to drive from my place in NorCal to my mom's place in SoCal and half way back before I have to get gas, or even better I'll be able to make it all the way to Vegas on 1 tank. |
Have you looked into the Fuel Safe tanks? I'm pretty sure they're SFI approved and they fit w/o cutting but they're only 21 gallons and they hang slightly lower than stock.

wow, thats an extra 100 lbs of fuel. at full, assuming we have a 15 gal tank, your looking @ 90 lbs.... that tank, 190 lbs. :-D

Almost bought the FuelSafe tank from the 00' R but I wanted the extra capacity it'll also help out with the weight distribution.
