tears of joy...
got my SLP LM1's installed today...
and I almost cried at the beauty of the sound. My very first mod and I could not be happier lol ((I can wait on SLP Catted O/R xpipe...this sound does not annoy me at all)) |
lol...welcome to the mod itch man...gotta love those SLP's
|
congrats
|
congrats, but report back in a year when your hearing is gone from the noise of the SLP's....ha ha ha.
|
lol, whole way home i just turned off the radio, rolled down windows and listened to it :) ... and the sound breaks alot more necks than stock did
now....to save for a SLP O/R Catted X :) |
wait until you take a date in your car and she wants to talk to you and you can't hear her. ha ha ha...I'm just busting your chops man, but LM1's are extremely loud.
|
lol my gf came with me, and she absolutly LOVES the sound,(( shes into mustangs)) also, wut kinda HP did my exhaust add? like 5-10 to engine?
an xpipe (catted o/r) will just lower the sound or also add more of a throaty sound? |
Just wait till you get your X pipe, I love mine, sounds mean and not happy!
|

a catback, 0.
Some sites advertise the SLP catback picks up 25hp but I seriously doubt this. |

I disagree with this. At this point your gains are probably minimal. With a tune you might pick up 10 -15 hp from just a catback.
Some sites advertise the SLP catback picks up 25hp but I seriously doubt this. Think about it, ok great, you upgraded to higher flowing mufflers, and the diameter is 2 1/2 instead of 2 1/4, not much different. But the midpipe and headers are still highly restrictive. So thats your limiting factor right there. Another example, people upgrading to a 75mm t/b while leaving the rest of the intake stock. Thats not going to benefit you because the inlet tube is smaller along with the plenum. No more air is being allowed in then before. |
lol ok thx
|
I would not go with an o/r X pipe it will be way to loud. I started off with just the SLP LM catback and then bought a bassani o/r X pipe and it sounded like shit so I ordered bassani mid length headers and the SLP Power Flow mufflers. I love the way my exhaust sounds now.

I put Flowmaster 44s on mine with x, and it makes my wifes ears pop at a steady 65mph...Its real deep toned when your up over 2000rpms
|
Ya, past 2.5k rpms it gets alittle raspy but im fine with it.
SLP O/R Catted X will make it sound worse? or will it lessen the raspy sound? and i thought that catback MIGHT of added 5-10, to the engine, not the rear. =\ oh well |

my friends bullitt gained alot mroe than that. went from 240rwhp to 250rwhp by adding a SLP catback.
2-3rwhp seems low to me on a GT for a catback exhaust. maybe a v6 mustang. Sure the 10hp was on a bullitt but a GT isnt that far from it. |

Youre a Crack addict now. All you will think about now is what can I buy next! Enjoy:t:
|
the x pipe will make it more raspy. cause more air will be flowing throught it
and btw guys, i ordered the slp powerflow!! |
So, what would be the best Xpipe to get for my SLP1 LM's, that will make it alittle louder, alittle deeper, and MAYBE less raspy(if not less raspy its fine)
SLP LM1's dont seem loud enuff. |
IF you go off road then yeah it will be louder and raspier. But its one or the other its not a SLP off road catted x-pipe like you keep typing. Its one or the other. Its either catted or off road.
