So I have heard alot about dynotuning your car. At first I just thought this meant strapping it down to the machine and figuring out exactly how much horsepower you have. Although I have been reading more carefully and now i see that you can get an actual tune for your car? What is the difference between getting it dyno tuned and going out and buying an x3 or something like that?

Well if you go to the dyno you can get just your numbers. If you take it to a tuner who has a dyno he can tune your car while its on there to get the a/f ratio,timing, etc.. set and make more power and make changes as needed. The tunes you buy online are "canned" tunes as their known. Meaning its not optimized for your car its a more general tune for many cars.
