Creaking/clicking when turning
 

I don't know what the problem is, but lately, when I turn the wheel (either way, but mostly turning left), there's a squeaky or clicking kind of sound. It's hard to describe but it sounds like creaky stairs, but metal. What is it?? It is irritating the piss out of me. Any help would be great.:confused:

Hey check your rack and pinion to your stirring wheel. Im have the same prob and my mechanics found the bolt was loose. Now the noise is back so Im going to have them check it out again. Get back at me friday and I should know something.

It's your steering rack tube brackets. Only avaliable at your local ford dealership. Usually run about 15 bucks for both.

Had the same problem, took it the dealership sat their for 8 hours, they had to replace the all the bushing and the steering box, thank god a i had a warrenty then!

Well I don't have a warranty, so if that's what it is I'm f*cked.

do you meen the tubular rack sleeves that mount the rack (wth bushings) to the "K" member?


ahhh, Candice I know what your referring too now;) the tube sleeves:D they are $3.19 each, you'll need 2 and you should install new rac bushings too, $3.25 each X's 4
