WHY????

Does my rear, when changing gears at full throttle the rear dips to the right and then moves to the left slightly?? i have only been able to feel it from the first to second change, not second to third because i really don't feel like going 70+ just to see if it moves!! but why does it move from first to second??

total shot in the dark but maybe the engine is slightly twisting the frame when engaged with the transmission, when you release the clutch the engine is no longer twisting the fram and it laxes, causing the rear end to move a little?

hell... i dunno

ohh sorry forgot to tell yall its an auto 97 gt with only o/r x, flowmasters, and a K&N drop in filter

how much of a "dip" are you talking..maybe one wheel is grabbin better than the other..i dunno if you spin the tires much but when or if you do does the car leave 2 nice black streaks ALL the time or is it somtimes just one? maybe the rear end isnt working right

SxyXc 10-26-2007 01:53 PM

last time i spun em nicly there was one mark, but thats because it was on a turn.. but last burn out yeah both were there.. but had tires that didn't leave a very black mark behind as proof :(

I would say chassis / rear end flex. Some decent control arms and a set of subframe connectors will keep her straight and flat when shifting.

Just saw you have a vert... that makes it even worse (though you do have the G load brace which helps)

my car does the same thing (02 v6 auto) when shifting from 1-2 with trac control off. i kinda just assumed it was because i didnt have posi.

Why would you be manually shifting a AODE?

you can still manually shift it, probably not the best thing for the trans. i really only do it when racing or i need the power immediately. when the trans is on D youll get that bog as the engine gets goin and RPMs rise

yeah I know you can, just never really a need to unless you are shifting while going down the track, used to do it in my mach1 I had and man thought the shaker or the hood was gonna fly off!

as long as your tuned for it and computer will shift when you tell it too, shouldnt be a issue
