you have the vacuum hose loose or something else isnt torqued down tight.

yup. air leak.

also check the clocking of the MAF. They can be sensitive to sensor orientation

and make sure there's no bends in the air stream right before the MAF body (fenderwell CAI's all have these).

EDIT: and moved to general tech where it belongs.

mpt_1962 08-24-2007 09:22 AM

maybe spray off the MAF sensor with some brake fluid, let it completely dry and then put it back on. Might help.

any success?

What type did you buy?

I say, return to stock if you you can't fix.....no sense in having a mod piss-off a wife.

BRAKE FLUID?!...maybe you mean brake cleaner, but i would use electrical part cleaner instead. I know what you meant, but if some donkey took it literally and did use brake fluid...o my....

R3dFire02 08-26-2007 12:45 PM

probably a very small leak in a vaccum hose

Most CAIs require reprogramming the ecu..HYPERTECH has this feature available.

Not for that generation. They is such little gain in airflow that it's within normal operating parameters. Now for 05+, that's different.

On a side note, holy Thread-Resurrection!
