MGW shifter install and fluid change question
Just a quick question...
I ordered a MGW short throw 3650. The car has 34,000 miles and I'm gonna go ahead and change out the fluid while I'm at it. I hear royal purple is good so I guess I'll go with that. My question is should I go with "Royal Purple Max ATF" or should I use the "Royal Purple Synchromax". I read an article where they said to use the Max ATF but the Synchromax says it's for manuals. Does it really matter? What do you guys use? |
I think it was jjgiants who recommended a mixture of two different but specific lubricants. Send him a PM, he made it sound like it made a huge difference in his trans.

ok thanks!

let us know how u like the MGW, i'm thinin' bout gettin' one. i've heard they're the best out there.
|
Go w/ the ATF. The Synchromax is probably made for the older trans which used thicker gear lubes instead of thinner ATF.
|
I run the
Synchromax

I'm very happy with Royal Purple Syncromax...
and yes it is designed for transmissions that require ATF. from Royal Purple's website Synchromax is recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automatic transmission fluid or motor oil. |
Its simple the best I have found
