EGR Flow!!

Well my service engine soon light came on. So i took up to advance to get it checked and it said "EGR Flow Insufficient". The senson is on the throttle body that come from the exhaust is what im told, If i keep driving my car is it going to cause any harm?

It wont do any damage to the engine by driving it like that. But it probably will affect performance and gas mileage. Especially if it puts the car into "Limp Home Mode" Youll need to get it fixed. Check all your gaskets and hoses to make sure nothing is leaking. You can try to remove the EGR valve and clean it out with some brake cleaner, but sometimes even that doesnt help. Its probably not the valve itself thats sticking, but the solenoid thats sitting on top of it. The EGR valve isnt on the throttle body, its on the side of the upper intake plenum or what people call the "intake elbow". If I were you i would just look at replacing that solenoid if you arent leaking air anywhere.....

Ill look into that tomorrow, A buddy of mine with oa 03 GT also blocked his, He told me if i where to do that it block all the hot air from the intake, which will only allow more cold air to rush in my engine for a little HP and TQ gain! Is that true?

There will be very little if any gain at all on a lightly modded car like yours by doing that. You would probably need to get the tune adjusted for it, and you wouldnt pass emmissions either. I know blocking it off only costs like $25 but i really dont think its a good idea. Though others have done it..... I bet if you 2 guys raced from a roll and his mods were the same as yours except for the egr blockoff, youd either pull him a tad or it would be dead even. Its just not anything thats going to give you a SOTP gain.....

Check your connections also. There may be a leak somewhere. Also, if you are experiancing any kind of bucking (especially in 5th gear going 40), not having it fixed will cause harm to the engine. Otherwise, don't worry too much but get it fixed.

deleting EGR can also cause internal engine damage (uncommon) by allowing piston temps to climb too high. The EGR gasses foul the intake charge and reduce combustion temps, which reduces NOx production.

Fix the EGR.. it's there for a reason.
