Help my window is broken

hey my window won't roll down without me forcing it. it can with the door open but not closed and when it is open it is extremely rough. sounds like it is having a really hard time. i opened everything up to see if it was just off the track and it is but i can't get it back on. it keeps jumping out. is something bent? can someone help? thanks

The scissor assembly is most likely bent, Im not sure when Ford changed it, but I know that there have been atleast two versions since 96 or 97.

If it isn't bent or off track, it could be rust as that was somewhat common as well. Another problem that I have seen was the lower scissor bolt coming loose and it throws the whole assembly out of ballance.

Can you hear a rattle, is the window loose, does the motor seem like it's weak? There are several things that could be wrong.. Give us some more info.

its a 99 mustang gt if that is important. the whole thing makes a horrible rattle noise when i shut the door like the whole window itself is loose. the motor sounds fine but its hard to tell cuz the window is making a lot noise jumping all over the place as it goes down. it moves around and jerks going up and down.
