Passenger side window problem

I have a problem with the passenger side window on my 98 Mustang vert. the window seems to going up too far and will not allow the door to close when the top is up. The only way to get the door to close without fear of shattering the window is to put the window down a bit, close the door and then put the window back up.
Does this sound familar to anyone and if it does how didi you fix it?:help:

Most likly the adhesive that is used to glue the track to the glass has come undone and you need a new window. I have had this issue with my 98. Easy way to tell is if the glass while going up or down does not stay horizontal but tilts to one side or another. You can visually inspect it buy removing your door panel and looking at area where they adhere the window glass to a metal strip.

The other thing may be that its needs to be adjusted. In this case you will also need to remove the door panel and weather strip that goes on top of the door. You will see some stops on either side which you can adjust to where you want the window to stop.

I knew that my glass had to be replaced so I call a company that comes to your home and replaces it. I suggest you have someone replace glass as its not an easy task to do unless you have some help as the glass can get scratched very easy while trying to remove it. Im not sure about our stangs but some cars need rivets removed and replace also.

Thank you for the reply.
I don't think that the adhesive is the problem as I haven't noticed ant see-saw movement of the window. But since it sounds like I will have to pull the door panel off anyway I will check it out. Replacing a window dosen't bother me too much but the job is definately easier with a helper.
How do you make the adjustments to the stops? Or is it pretty self explanitory once I get in there?

BTW...Nice Stang!:worship2:

Once you get there it will be obvious on how to adjust and what the issue is. Its either the stops needs adjustment or the rubber pad has fallen off or needs to be replaced. If its the rubber pad you can get a hose and cut it in half and use that.
