fuel injection problem??

Hello, I have a 94 v6 and it recently started running really rough, and the check engine light is on, i hooked it up to a computer, and it said cylinder 2 isnt firing, so i immediatly changed all the plugs and wires, and it still runs terrible, so i did a compression test and its fine, so i think it must be the fuel injector, so i put in some cleaner, and ran through 2 tanks with cleaner, and still nothing... any ideas??

Id pull that plug wire off and make sure your getting spark to it. If not, maybe a bad coil pack. If you have a good spark, the number 2 injector isnt getting voltage to it or that injector is toast. Id do and ohm check on that injector. If you have 0 ohms or no continuity at all its bad.

I put a screwdriver to the injectors and listened to the other end and it was clicking, so i believe that means it is working.

Probably

The computer is telling the truth. Check the wiring - 2/3 of the time that's
the problem. 1/3 of the time the coil pack is toast.

If the injectors aren't getting signal at that cylinder, it is also wiring.

If you recently put any new mods on the car, of had it serviced, a wire could
be crushed/severed/shorted.

luck

Try swapping the bad injector to a known good cylinder. If the trouble follows then you know it's the injector itself. If it stays behind with the original cylinder then it's the wiring.

If its a 94 its more than likly the coil pack going bad.

Just spoke with my buddy the Genius (yeah, iq of 160 and all) who builds modulars from time to time. He says its the coil pack, UNLESS its wiring - he asks: "Have you recently done any electrical install (stereo, alternator, etc)?"

If so, coil packs are natural casualties of grounding fault.

God, I hate geniuses...

not a genius just the only thing it could be really. bad injectors would not cause a miss fire. they would toss a code for the injector not pusling correctly etc..

Ok, maybe my buddy just THINKS he's a genius. But I bet you two are right.
