There's a lot of debate on what you should go with. I was told in an auto get 3.73 and in 5 speeds get a 4.10 and in 6 speeds you should go with 4.30
Anyhow, it really all depends on you. Do you do a lot of highway driving? If not do not fear the gear and get 4.10 |
yeah i drive highway a pretty good bit, so your sayin 4.10s prolly aint for me huh ? I want to know about the 3.55 though anyone got anything to say about them ?

You wouldnt even hardly tell the difference between your stock 3:27 gears and the 3:55's.Go 4:10's wish I would have and will eventually :)
|
I also couldn't decide because I do a lot of highway driving so I figured I would go with the 3.90's...

I Have A 01 With Auto Trans And Agree That The 3.55 Is Not Worth Time And Money Over The 3.27 Stock Gears. I Went From 3.27 To 3.73 And Noticed A Huge Difference,by Far The Best Mod. I Then Tryed 4.10 Gears And Didnt Like The Rpms On The Freeway. Last Week I Installed 3.90 Gears And Believe They Are The Best For The Automatic,a Very Nice Compromise. I Purchased The Motive Performance Plus Gears And They Are More Quite Than The Ford 4.10 Set And The 3.73 Ford Sets I've Owned.

please do not waste your money on 3.55s. i also have 3.90s and do 60-70 miles a day highway and at 70 mph im at 2500 rpms which is were i wanted to be and its perfect. little effect on mpg also. when you get gears also get a tranny cooler. i paid $40 for mine. if i didnt drive all hiway i might have gone 4.30s. but 3.90 or 4.10s are good for your car.
