Need some tech info

I just bought an engine from a friend of mine. It is out of a 91 mustang. The exact model is unknown. It is 302 warmed over into a 332 stroker. The whole thing was torn down, and rebuilt, and has some great parts stuffed into it.

I am running into a couple problems with my install though. First, I didn't get a pcm with it. I work at Ford, but our parts dept can't trace anything that old, and all the wreckers can do is tell me to pick any one of six different pcm's that ford used in that year. That works out to over a grand if I don't get the right one until almost last.

Is the any way to trace a number off of the said engine to find the proper pcm, or can a pcm be tuned to the engine?

Another issue is to do with fuel. I have an RCI fuel cell, to be used with an external fuel pump. I know that the injectors are slightly oversized, but how much, I am unsure. It has a larger throttlebody, and MAF sensor also. It is a thirsty pig, to be honest.

He was using a stock unit, in a stock tank, but since I am not, can anyone reccomend a suitable external pump, with the proper flow range?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for reading.

well to start off the injectors can be figured out simpley by telling us the color of them. AS for the pump you can spend anywhere form 50-500bucks on a electric external pump so it kinda depends on your needs. If your gonna keep it N/A this MSD pump at summitracing.com located here:

Will do you good and has a high flow rate. The larger TB wont pose a problem but the MAF can if its not matched the injectors. You would need to pull the maf and look at it and see what it has written on it (alot of times they write what injectors it goes with on them).

As for the PCM i cant help on that sadly.

So here is a start for you :)

Hey, thanks alot. That solves most of the problem. I'll just keep diggin on this pcm problem. If I find anything, I'll put it up.

Thanks again.

maybe something with the vin#? i know they tell you a lot of stuff from engine, to tranny, color of the car too i think. maybe if you can get w/randy on here and try to narrow it down between a couple?
