U-Joints

Well after a lot of changing my mind on what I'm going to do with my car situation. I have decided that the shudder when I accelerate is what's going to decide for me. So I was doing some research and I found that this shudder when I accelerate is most likely the U-Joints going bad. Does anyone have any experience replacing these or checking them? My dad seems to think that they are relatively inexpensive and something I could do myself.

when you say "shudder" do u mean like it feels sloppy kinda, u joints arent very difficult to replace i just did them on a 95' F-150 couldnt really tell you how long it took as i had to replace the whole rearend and that took a while lol, google it, thers tons of good write-ups on how to replace u-joints

ujoints are pretty straight forward. you could probably do them yourself if you have a decent amount of mechanical ability.

shudder i mean the car shakes when i accelerate, only at certain speeds, and if i accelerate fast it doesnt do it.

bad ujoints will clunk on acceleration

are you sure it isnt a wheel balancing problem? Unbalanced wheels dont necessarrily shake at all speeds, they hit a certain speed that is the worst and usually calm down.

same with imbalance in tire pressure.

Judging by the shake itself I dont think that its the wheels/tires, but I dont know for sure.

Could also be the weight on the driveshaft fell off making it unbalanced.
