Gt fuel pump

Will the Gt(Super Car) fuel pump fit in my 04 Gt mustang?

spike_africa 03-08-2007 06:34 AM

Yes you can run the ford GT fuel pump. I would spend less and get the SVT focus or aviator pump.

Agreed! That Focus pump is an awesome unit and will handle anything you can throw at it. Don't waste the money on the GT pump. Get with Randy. :postwhore:

It's a guy in my area that has to of them he wants $100 a piece for them. But if he does not fall thru I will get with Randy.

IMO that sounds way to good to be true. But w/e if hes got enough of them he can still rake in some cash.

You sure the GT pumps are more expensive then the Focus pumps?

spike_africa 03-08-2007 03:15 PM

last i hear it was like $115 for GT pumps wasnt it? i am positive it was alot more then a SVT pump.

95STANG 03-08-2007 07:20 PM

Why would the GT pump cost so much less? i guess it just doesnt make sense to me that a super car's fuel would be less than a SVT pump.

Thats a 2006 price for the GT pump, Focus pumps are still at $95 though.

So you guys don't think I should trust them? Anyone got a part number I can refference? I looked these up and they support 600 hp. It will be awhile before I reach that hp but I like to prepare in advance.

What I've heard :
"Be careful installing the Ford GT pump into a stock Mustang GT basket. The fuel exit stob that comes up off the the GT pump does not fit very well into the top hat that closes down on top of the basket, and will cause a loss of pressure immediately. This stob is tapered slightly.
I have seen others put a piece of hose around it to seal it well, but this hose will end up deteriorating."

Anybody actually put one in and know what the dealio is ? I've wondering about this too. I have a used SVT Focus pump that I might put in. Just wondering if a new Ford GT might be the way to go.

IMO I wouldnt put the GT pump in the stock mustang GT tank. I think itll suck the basket dry. First step should be SVT focus pump, then cobra tank with cobra pumps, focus pumps, or GT pumps.

Well if it is going to be all this hassle I guess I will just have to crawl before I walk and just get the focus pump. Is it to late in the day to order from Randy?

Yes, youll have to wait until Monday. And when you get it, refer to my write up while installing it, http://www.dndgarage.net/focuspumpinstall.htm
