Just want to ask about a price

Ok i was having trouble with my brakes. so i went to the shop and i thought that it was the master cylinder but they said it was the brake booster sounds fine. Just wanted to know if $351 sound right to fix it.

Well whats wrong with your brakes, we might be able to help you figure it out before you shell out the cash.

I would HIGHLY doubt that it's your booster. Those things are normally good for like 10 years. In any case, get the part and do it yourself. It's not that hard. 350 to replace a booster isn't bad if the booster comes with it. It's still all the money they could possibly get you to pay so I'd do a little haggling if you got the nutz for such activity.

the booster is going to be entirely replaced.
my car is 7 years old thats close enough it has 82000 on it.
my problem with my car is that when i push on the break ped its hard to depress and dosent slow down very fast. my rear rotors have 50% on em. the front were defect but they are covered on warnty. oh and the steering wheel shakes just a bit when stoping. but with the rotors i was going to ask them if i couls upgrade to some powerslots and pay the diffrence.
okj hope thats enougj info

if your wheel shakes, your rotors are warped. i would check to see how much brake material is left on the front brakes because they are the ones that make up most of your stoping power. you can have no brakes in the rear and super duper brakes up front and you should be fine. but if was visa versa then your screwed.

clif notes: check rotors and pads before you do anything. the car im driving now has almost 150k miles on it and it works perfectly cept the abs modual. the brake booster still has to give out. and the car is 8 years old.

a hard pedal would say the booster could be failed/ing or it could mean you've got a vacuum leak or a faulty vacuum pump (depending on how your car is equipped... I don't deal much with 6ers so I'm not sure). The warped fronts tell me you heated em up good though... probably glazed a pad which would shoot your braking performance in the foot. Looks like new pads, rotors and a booster.

Don't forget to have the brake fluid completely changed. With the warped front rotor and the general age of the car, it's about 100% certain that it needs to be changed. I recommend ATE Super Blue Racing fluid. 10-16 a quart, cool blue color, mega high boiling point wet and dry. 1 qt is enough to do 2-4 fluid changes even if you're wasteful.
