Cams w/o headers?

Is this okay to do? I know that I won't gain as much power, but would stage 2 cams w/o headers be okay to do? I don't have the money for headers and a new h pipe, so would there be anything wrong with doing cams without headers?

nope. as u said, you wont see much gain compared to headers, but there is a gain. i would get an exhaust shop to cut your prochamber to fit the lt's. i know some people do taht when they have lack of funds like yourself.

headers will help with cams but the cams alone provide enough power gain to justify them being installed so there's no reason not to do one just because you can't do the other yet. They're not mutually exclusive, they're mutually complimentary.

LT's no. But gears and converter if your auto are.

I've got 4.10's and a 5 spd, so I'm good there. Does anyone know how to tell if I have pressed on cam gears or not?

i think you can tell by the years. 96-98 bolted on 99-00 pressed and 01-04 bolted. i think all romeo had bolted and windsor pressed but not 100%

im in the middle of my stage 2 cam install myself windsor are pressed (like mine i got a 99) romeo are bolted.....and i have no headers

im in the middle of watchin my bro do the install. never thought cam install would be so easy, just time consuming

if you have pressed on cam gears, there won't be a bolt on the front end of each cam holding on a gear. Pull the cam cover (valve cover) and look... that's the super duper grease-in-a-can easy way to tell.
