Tranny Swap

Hey, I currently own a V6 Mustang Convertible w/ an auto tranny and a few mods done to it. I put about $3,000 into the car already, and im dying to get a manual tranny. I was wondering if it would be a waste of money (I herd it could be about $4,000) or I should just save up some more and get a new car maybe a GT w/ a manual already installed. What do you guys think? I'd love to get a GT but I don't know how much i'd get for my car. When my brother owned it the dealer said about $6000. After I got it I put dual exhausts on, a system, CAI, and some interior work. I don't think they will give me more than about $7,000. A new GT is like 20K. Decesions Decisions. BTW it's an 01 Silver Vert

I say go w/ a GT but a used one w/ stick shift. Also, to get the most cash for your car, sell it on your own. The dealer wanted 5 grand for my mom's mini-van w/ 50,000 miles while they advertised the same van (year and model) for $8,000. Also, shop around, you can get good deals on GTs. I got mine for under $13,000 in the winter of '05 w/ 17,000 miles.
However, it will be cheaper to just swap transmissions. A used 5-speed like the T5 is almost everywhere and could be had for cheap. Then, all you need is the cable, quadrant, clutch, and pedal assembly. The trick is to go used to keep prices down.

If you're going to get another car and are dead set on another stang anything that doesn't have more then 2 valves per cylinder is a dumb move (if you're buying used). The 2 valve GT is just not that impressive anymore for the price and what else is available.
