I had no trouble and bought mine off of CSLEDD. She could not get it to work on her car.

Why couldn't she get it to work? Purestang is a girl?!?

WaterDR 11-27-2006 06:51 PM

Ha ha....actually, I don't know if PURESTANG is a guy or girl, but thought he was a he......if this even matters.

csledd is a member here...one of our moderators. Her name is really Christie and is a she.

She could not get the shift light to work correctly. It caused here SES to activate for some reason.

I did not experience the same problems.

You need to splice the shift light wiring right into wires going to the ECU. Do a search on the Raptor and you will find all kinds of posts about it...including photos of installs.

HAHA, Sorry, I got confused when he said "She had problems..."

csledd 11-29-2006 12:25 AM

well.. I did sale mine, and shortly after I wanted to try it again and make it work. So I bought another one, looked at the install instructions on the site.. and noticed something they added. It says not to use the blue clips (which I used on the previous light) and instead to use the red ones. I used the red ones and no SES, hooked it up the same exact way as my original light that tripped the SES light. So I blame it all on the lower gauge clips (use 22, not 18). Other than that I love my shift light and would recommend it to anyone.! It's very bright and noticeable.

Oh, and it helped me diagnose a problem with my COP rubber boots

i really should get one of those shift lights, everyone seems to really like them.

WaterDR 11-29-2006 03:44 PM

I have mine mounted just like Christies, but I used the screw on the left side of the pod instead of the right as she did.

I like it on the left better because it points more directly at the driver.

Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Cant wait to get it. I'll be installing it in the vent as well.

Mine is supposed to be here tomorrow as well. I'm mounting it where csledd did though. Its an attractive piece, so I dont want to hide it.
