Transmission
After dodging a bullet with a leaking line last night, I still want a better transmission I have 2004 Gt Automatic with 2800 Tq converter I'm running 4:10 gears Sct Tune by Ed Clark at Steen Racing, I know all the 5 speed guys will say swap, Pushing the clutch will not work for me to much back and left leg nerve damage, I like the auto but hate the sluggish shift with the tune it shift great as long im in the the pedal but if I'm just driving its like doing 15 in third gear on a 5 speed just real boggy, is there anything that can be done.

Ed can adjust the shift points for full and part throttle. Id also do the JMod like Icefreezen suggested. However, theres no reason for spending $200+ on a new valve body. You can do the JMod for about $5 plus the price of fluid. Here is my write up on it, http://www.dndgarage.net/jmod.htm If you want a new tranny, then I HIGHLY recommend talking to Darrin at www.bc-automotive.com
With the J Mod, I chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift at half throttle with my street tires. BTW, that stall is a bit low. You might want to discuss that with Darrin too. Now if you want to be able to shift the car then youll need a manual valve body. However, I dont recommend that because letting the computer shift is a lot more consistent. |
Thanks
Thanks For the advice you guys Rock

why do you leave the spring out for the 1-2 accumulator piston?
|
Makes the car shift hard. If you leave the 1-2 or 2-3 in then it wont shift as hard.
