07 F-150 4.6

Just curious, what made the power on the F-150 jump from 231 to 248hp on the 4.6? New 2V heads? Induction? Exhaust?

Rally stripes and body kits

Decals of aftermarket companies, +20hp. But seriously, the power for the 4.6 in the F-150 since the PI heads came stayed at 231 until now so what makes for the sudden and large jump? If it is new heads, I'm sure the 2V guys (like me) can benefit from a used set when they start showing up in the junkyards.

don't the new F-150 have 3v motors?

According to Ford's site, the 4.6 F-150 still has the 2V heads.

there is a 2v 4.6 and a 3v 5.4 option. I don't think the 3v 4.6 is offered in anything but the mustang just yet.

Better ECU programming could easily yeild the added power. Possibly a little change to the intake manifold as well.

which is retarted because they should have all 3 valves to be 5.4's and put it in the mustang...
