Coolant additive?

Are there any folks out there using Royal Purple "Purple Ice" Super Coolant in their cooling system? in thier 05/06 GT's? I'm using RP in my tranny and oil and I love it, just curious if using the purple ice is worth it? or is it just snake oil?

Thanks for any input

I use redline wetter stuff. Its the same thing but a couple bucks cheaper. I have no idea if its working or not..lol

All you need it for is to keep the block cool...

SO techniquely water will do just as good as anything else... except water freezes... which is why you need to use coolant/anti-freeze...

If I lived in a warm climate Id save my $$$$ and use water

Just using straight water on a street car is bad because:
1. Not only does coolant keep the water from freezing, it also keeps it from boiling.
2. Coolant also aids in water pump lubrication.
3. Prevents the water from eating the metal from getting to acidic or basic.
So, just keep running coolant.
The way that Watter Wetter and similar products work is that it reduces the surface tension of water so that more of the water contacts the metal surfaces. I myself can't vouch for it since I don't have an accurate water temp gauge (stock doesn't count) but I say it's cheap insurence and pouring a bottle in won't harm anything.

How often is it recommended to put a bottle of water wetter in the coolant system? Every 30,000 miles or something like that??

whenever you change it, add a bottle.

Yes it works pretty well. Nothing huge (that would be bad anyway) but it helps on days where you beat your car or it's really hot or both.
