waiting for a tow right now ...

dont know exactly what happened this time ... left school with no problems and then waited for my sister at the bus stop and turned the car off, then try to turn it back on and nothing ... doesnt even click or try to turn over at all ... i checked all the fuses and under the hood to see if i could see anything but nothing noticeable ... 5 min later it clicked once or twice to try to turn but then nothing, tried 5 min later and then it started, barely and the gauges were freaking out and it sounded like it was about to stall but i kept the revs up and got home ok ... but no no starting at all, and we tried to jump it but nothing, and the radio wont even come on ... its like the power is completely off ... anyone have anything for me?? sorry its so long

check your battery terminals. is it throwing a code?

thats what my civic did when the battery died. swap batterys with a friend or something to see if it works with a different battery, if so, thats right thar is yer problem

If it doesnt start try banging on the alternator with something pretty sturdy but wont break it. A decent whacking with a hammer should be good. If it starts, it could possibly be your alternator is toast.

just tried the jump box and it started!! the guy told me that my small alpine amp sucked all the power from the battery ... which i dont get b/c i started it fine 20 min before but yeah he said i should upgrade my alternator and get a new battery

id get your battery and alternator tested. Your alternator shouldnt experience any heavy loads unless you are pulling a high amount of wattage which I doubt you are.

yeah my alpine amp only puts out like 200w rms

Your alternator could just be goin' south.. I had some problems with my battery staying charged and it was the alternator. Usually if it is though, you'll notice some small things, lights dimming etc. Just go to Napa or something and have them test your bat. and alternator.

Bad battery.....then your alternator is prolly going bad also.

Not always true, the battery can fail on its own. IF the car started up once jumped. More then likly its just the battery. I would get the alt checked also to be sure. Any advanced/autozone does that for free.

but the battery failing usually stresses the alternator as well, cause the alternator to go south. they are a pair, a team, when ones not working right, the other struggles as well. if you know anyone with something similar to a midtronic battery tester, or even the stupid autozone test will help. replace the batter, but keep an eye on the alternator as well, it could kill another battery, or be hurting.
