Mid-pipe for '98

I know this is probably in the wrong section but I couldn't see how to post it in the sections I was searching, so. I have the opportunity of getting a magnaflow catted x-pipe for a 99-04 GT. The problem is that I have a 98 GT. Will this somehow work with my car? Can an exhaust shop make it work or should I not get it? The pipe is pretty inexpensive to buy. $150 What do you think?
Thanks,
caseych

96-04 GT's,bullits,Mach1's,cobra's 2v or 4v all share the same mid pipe.

For exapmle my car has a 98 cobras off road h-pipe on it.

only difference is the 96-98 cars have exhaust hangers on the mid pipe(i cut those off to save the whopping 1/2 lb. they might of weight).

Just get the SLP x, wont be sorry trust me i just bought one form americanmuscle.com and i love it. and just in case if you want to get LT headers you could get the slps and they will bolt right up to this x-pipe

im just said that they arent selling the race pipes for the system anymore.

You're right

I decided not to get the catted Magnaflow. I was wanting a catted slp x-pipe or a mac catted for my '98 GT to begin with. I am about to do a PI upgrade and was wanting to do this before it so I can get it tuned professionaly. If anyone has one to sell used I would love to here from you. If you have another brand I will consider it.
Just let me know.
Thanks,
Chad

I prefer Bassani pipes FWIW. SLP are nice too but Bassani are my personal preference.

continued

I can get a bassani catted x pipe for pretty cheap. The problem is it is for an auto. Is this a big deal or can this be made to fit without much pain.
Thanks,
Chad

doesnt matter if its auto or stick. Thats all BS. Auto or manual only matters when it comes to long tube headers.
