Help on longtubes...

I realize there are many threads on this topic, but this IS a discussion board. So, I would appreciate it if I did'nt get any replies on how I should just search threads. I would like to purchase longtubes in the future and I am not quite sure what brand to go with. I have looked into BBK and MAC. These seem to be the most affordable. I dont want to spend more than about $520 on the headers, so SLP is out. Also, I currently have a MAC O/R Prochamber. Does MAC make arms that could connect from the prochamber to the Longtubes without having to purchase a whole new midpipe?

Thank you for your input.

To tell you the truth, what you dont spend in headers, you will spend on install. Go buy some Bassani longtubes and you and your buddies could do it alone. They are individual tubes into a collector. They are like 700 but youll save the money from the install. im not sure of fitment if itll go on your midpipe.

Ive installed a couple sets of Mac LT's and never had any problems with them. I def recommend them, they are cheap, but work well and are good quality with the new creamic coating.

a lil off topic: are the HTS coated and Ceramic coated headers basically the same, 03gt?

What are some good sites to buy headers?

Does Bassani even make longtube headers? I know they make mid length.

No, they are different. The Ceramac coating gives it a chrome look and lasts longer then the HTS. They are about $100 more too.

HTS
Ceramac

No, just mid length. Ive installed a couple sets of those and like them too. But Id take Mac over Bassni just because of the price.

Yea I hear you, but I have a Bassani O/R X pipe so I have no choice but to go with bassani headers =/

D&D I see your numbers in your sig. Isn't your car a auto too? I'm curious what all mods do you have done to your car?

edit: nvm I visited your site =D

Yep, its all there. My 12.7 was on a different tune from a different tuner with 262rwhp 281rwtq and bascially a stock suspension on nitto DR's. The nitrous numbers are with 4* taken out from stock.

What headers will allow you to remove the tranny without having to remove the headers?

r3dn3ck 10-19-2006 11:47 AM

shorties which are otherwise pretty well worthless.

03gtmustang 10-19-2006 11:54 AM

You can remove a auto and manual tranny with Hooker LT's. You cant do that with Mac LT's, BBK LT's, or SLP LT's. Im sure you could do it with Bassani mids. But Im not sure about Flow Tech LT's, Jet Hot LT's, and Kooks LT's.
