EATON posi users ??

Was wondering what type of oil you guys use? Ive been using Royal Purple, but i read a thread on the MD board that Eaton recommends basic mineral oil :dunno: Reason for my question is iam getting this clunking sound from from my unit when i make tight turns left or right? I only have about 6ks on it. Ive also read to use Ford friction modifier but R.P. says not needed in there diff. oils? any opinions would be appreciated.

start by adding a couple ounces of Ford FM and see if that calms it down. It's in most synthetic oils according to their labels but I still find the need to add 2oz or so to keep clutch type diffs from chattering.

ok ill try that, iam curious cause when i first had the gears and eaton put in there i did add the friction modifier along with the Royal Purple but after the first oil change i just added the gear oil w/no friction modifier.

the FM always seems to kill these naggy little problems. I like equa-torque or the ford stuff you get from the dealer parts counter. Speaking of which...time for a fluid change for me. There goes another 30 bucks.
