Please do not respnd unless you know what you are talkin bout please...
ok heres the application '93 f150 2x4 302ci OHV auto... extended cab 8ft bed... question... exhaust... my pal has the above pickup.. now we're gonna go true duals... dilema... noone makes mid pipes for it... It only has 1 O2 sensor and only 1 (smog pump/egr valve) airline... We will install hooker Long Tubes... Now I DO NOT want to have to fab an H pipe for the 1 O2 sensor... and it HAS to pass inspection so the cats stay as will the egr and smog pump and airline... heres the question of the day... Can I run header to pipe to cat to pipe to muffler then run it out the side????? Meaning... the the O2 sensor would be in one pipe and not the other... same goes for the airline... the airline would run into one cat... It'd have to completely independent pipes... the one side would have no O2 sensor nor would it have an airline... I don't want his truck to possible fail inspection and I want it to run like it should... thanks in advance |
o2 sensors would cause false readings and car would run like crap and throw a code and not pass inspection.

But what if the pass side pipe has an O2 sensor... but the driver side doesn't? it only has 1 O2 sensor stock... or is there an easy way to put another O2 sensor... I would think as long as the 1 O2 sensor reads ok then the driver side shouldn't matter |
basically you want to keep everything where it is stock. If you can replace it and keep it in the same spot, you should be alright. but from switching from single to dual might ofset the readings. im not quite sure i understand how you are trying to run it.

I dont know how its going to work because its going to have half of the exhaust gas pass through instead of all of it. Im not sure if its going to throw a code or run crappy because of it.

I would need to fab an h-pipe for the O2 sensor... the airline shouldnt really matter as long as they are connected... my mac offroad h oly had the airline on the pass side of the H... But fabbin an H pipe aint no walk in the park... especially without a pipe bender, pipe expander, & drill press... and having a tig as apposed to a mig welder would help too |

Camaros are Y piped off the headers. you could try that and get a camaro muffler that has dual outlets for the dual exhaust.
A. it won't line up right B. it defeats the purpose of the dual exhaust |
It should work. All the O2 sensor reads is a air fuel mixture which has to be at the correct ratio. The ratio shouldn't change so as long as enough air is moving through the pipes for the sensor to read it correctly it should work.
