tranny questions

ok i am a transmission dummy i have no clue what all is on the inside and the different parts to make it better... i am planning on rebuilding my car in 2-3 years with a 5.4 dohc twinturbo setup but i am clueless what i need to do to a transmission to make it hold up to that... so what i am asking is what are some aftermarket parts for a tranny that could support 1500-2000 hp? this is a serious question so no stupid comments... my buddy told me to get my internals cryoed what do you know about that? thanks ahead of time just want to get my list complete so i know exactly how much this is all going to run me.

i dunno of a tranny that can hold that much hp but i know that the tko 700 is one of the strongest trannys out there. unless your going to put an auto then put a built 2 speed in the car...

if you go to modularpowerhouse.com/forums and ask those guys...they really know their stuff...

You wont want a manual for that type of power. Contact Darrin at www.bc-automotive.com and he can help you out.

You need to do a lot of reading, or have a whole lot of money to be at 1500-2000 hp. Its deffinetly not that easy to jump into the 1500-2000hp mark. Basically, you can take your budget (if its realistic), double it, then you can add on another 15% for what its going to cost you to have that running properly, after you start breaking stuff.

my goal is to have $30,000 saved in 2-3 years that should be enough to get almost everything/everything going... yeah i am def. going auto... someone told me on another forum i am on that i shouldnt do this with this car he said i should by a fox and fix that up something about the pushrod motor being better for this or something...

in 2-3 years tranny technology will be very differant, as will prices. basically, your going to just pay someone awhole lot of money to send you a big crate with a tranny in it. cry freezing should be very popular, and yes it does work. at that power level your choices will be very limited. ide just keep saving, and then when you have the money start going for it.
