Sort Shifter Question

If I get a Steeda Tri-Ax, will it still have blocks/resistance for lower gears when going faster? I also have trouble shifting into 3rd at 4500+ RPM sometimes, it seems tough like I really have to push it and sometimes I miss gear, they say it's a lot easier to shift to 3rd with the Tri-Ax. Is there any other short shifter I should consider?

Edit: Sorry, wrong thread. Accident.

you have to learn how to shift into third..most people dont realize all you have to do is push up from second...alot of people try to find it instead of letting it find itself....and yes it will be a bit tougher w/ a short shifter cause the stick is shorter making it harder to put into gear...

what they mean by easier is you dont have to reach for third..

Get the MGW shifter. its the smoothest around...its a little more than the rest, but youll use it EVERY time you use your car(duh) so its worth it.

I have the Pro 5.0 and love it. When in second I can just slam up and it goes right into 3rd!

Never used the MGW so I don't know about it, but I can say I have never heard anyone say anything bad about it.

there will always be some resistance as the synchros try to speed up the gear to match the wheel speed and engine rpm. If it weren't synchronized you'd have to do the old clutch in, neutral, clutch out, wait, clutch in, shift, clutch out routine that everyone hated.

The tri-ax is super easy even with my SUPER short handle. Just push forward from 2nd and it's in third... don't try to find it like the man said. Just let it happen.

I have the Tri-Ax shifter and am now first getting used to it. You are right when you say people try to guide it in, that don't work. What I have found to work the best, is to use just the palm of my hand when going into 3rd gear, never miss that way, but I had to train my brain to do it. Those of you who don't or didn't like the Tri- Ax might not have figured that out.
