Hey i have a 96 gt and want my wheels to be wider can i use wheel spacers this is funny i have 17x7 inch wheels that arenew with 245/45 tires for a 100 dollars so i have to use them can i use spacers please help

completely depends on the wheel you're fitting to the car. Spacers are safe as a thing in general but you need to make sure they're hub-centric like those that Maximum Motorsports & steeda sell. 17x7 is kinda narrow... are you sure they're not 17x8?

Just make sure that you try to keep the width of the spacer to 1" or less or you'll almost certainly have rubbing issues. There is also usually some level of trimming to the stock lugs that has to be done to fit the spacers correctly. The instructions are normally pretty specific about how to determine if you have to do that and how much.

cliff's notes: shouldn't be a problem in the least.

+1 for the hub-centric spacers. Keep in mind that you really should watch how many turns you get on your lug nuts after. You may want longer wheel studs.

I've ordered two sets of 1.25" Spacers from a company on Ebay. The company ID is "Completevalue". The spacers were very nice, and priced very well. I think I paid $52 for each set.
